Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy

6th October 2014

Tarte Tipsy2    Is there a single blogger out there who hasn’t discovered the brilliance of Tarte blushers? Well, whether there is or not, these circular pots of pigmented joy have been adorning my cheeks for around a year now and I love them more and more with every application.

They apply evenly, are pigmented beyond belief and do live up to the claim of staying put for twelve hours. They may fall towards the pricier end of scale but they’re definitely worth it as you only need the tiniest of sweeps of a brush to pack your cheeks full of colour. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever hit pan on a single one of these, so they’re a great investment.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Natural Beauty

15th July 2014

Today I want to talk to you guys about one of my favourite blushers. It’s a bit of a cult product – one of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blushes and, as you can see from the picture above, I’ve accrued a sizeable stack of them over the years!

Over the next few weeks I’m going to show you how each of them looks on the skin and today’s post is focusing on Natural Beauty, which looks like this in the pan:

As you can see, it looks BRIGHT as hell and I was a bit put off when I saw how crazy pigmented it looked but it really isn’t that garish on the skin, at all. It’s actually quite subtle and gives a really pretty wash of colour on the cheeks, which you can see here:

I really like this colour, mostly because it’s so versatile. In the picture above I’ve paired it with pretty neutral make up but it works well with a smoky eye too. It’s great to warm up my pale skin tone (no shimmer means it looks super natural) and really does live up to its title – I’ve worn this for twelve hours on the trot before and it stays in place pretty darn well.
I’m a big fan of these blushers so make sure you keep an eye out over the next few weeks, when I’ll be reviewing the other shades in my make up drawers!

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara

12th May 2014
Now Tarte have finally arrived in the UK I wanted to bring you a little review of their Lights Camera Lashes mascara, which I picked up in Sephora last year and have been enjoying ever since.

As you can see this has a lovely effect on my lashes – it holds a curl really well, lengthens and separates the lashes, which is exactly what I want from a mascara! This lasts for hours and doesn’t smudge under my eyes – this is always a big test for me as I find sooo many mascaras smudge after I’ve been wearing them for a couple of hours.

Tarte’s Lights Camera Lashes mascara really opens up my eyes and I love wearing this on minimal make up days, when all I want is to look a little more awake and a little less ‘it’s 7am and I am sooo not ready to start working’.

Anyway, as it’s a Tarte product this isn’t readily available in the UK and I can’t find it listed on the QVC website… however, if you’re desperate to get your hands on this one you can buy it from Amazon here, with free delivery.

This is a gorgeous mascara but it’s not the cheapest and I’m not 100% sure I’d repurchase it, as I do get a similar effect from cheaper mascaras. Though, if you’re heading to the States and fancy a higher end mascara then it’s definitely worth snapping this up, as it’s a steal if you only pay the US price!
